How easy is the path to use? The walking path is a marked “Mobility Trail.” It goes around the lake in a clear loop. It was made for easy access and opened in 2005.

The paths are smooth, wide, and flat with no steps or other blocks. The edges of the paths are either bluestone kerbs or open lawns. Some paths have edges that go down to the water.

There is room to turn a wheelchair and walk side-by-side. You can park on all four sides of the park for shorter walks. Mobile phone service is good.

Some paths might be shared with cyclists.

Rest areas The park is well-kept. There are shelters and big trees for shade. You can find seats with armrests beside the paths.

There are drinking fountains you can use.

Nearby shops sell food and drinks. The picnic shelters have tables you can roll a wheelchair under and room to turn. There is a statue of Stella Young and an easy-to-use audio monument about her life.

The play area is not fully easy to use, but it has a Liberty Swing.

Toilets There are toilets you can use.

Dogs Dogs must be on a leash.

Public Transport Bus No. 1 stops near the Sloane Street / St Georges Street crossing. It’s 100 meters to the lake entrance on a smooth path. The kerbs have ramps. The bus stop is open to the weather.

Parking There is room to pick up, drop off, or park. The best place to start is at the Sloane St car park. There are two easy-to-use spaces (ground marked only).
